Corgi 2019 Catalogue Reveal Date |
Hornby will reveal the details of their model release programmes for 2019 across all of their various ranges via the dedicated websites on Monday 7th January. The full schedule for the 2019 range announcements is: Hornby Model Railway range: 10pm Scalextric range: 12pm Airfix Kits: 2pm Corgi: 4pm The latest blog posting on the Corgi site states "we can confirm the exciting news that the collection will contain several new model toolings across the various ranges" Its been almost five years since the last new OOC range tooling was issued, so hopefully there'll be something new for bus collectors to look forward to in 2019. |

Rapido Trains Announces Second UK Bus Model |
Rapido Trains Inc have revealled the identity of their second UK 1/76 scale bus model. Currently the company are putting the finishing touches to the Birmingham Guy Arab New Look models which are expected to be released soon. For the second model they have continued the Birmingham theme and selected a Metro-Cammell Weymann bodied Daimler/Leyland Fleetline. Birmingham City Transport/West Midlands PTE built up fleet of over a 1000 of these vehicles and they became a familiar site throughout the city. Other Muncipal opeators pushed the production figure beyond 2000 vehicles and many of these vehicles passed to smaller operators thoughout UK during the early years of bus deregulation in the late 1980's. Initial 3D renderings of the 1:76 Scale model Fleetline, showing all of the additional parts and details within. Like the New Look Guy Arab this model has been laser scanned, it will include a highly detailed multi coloured interior with fare box, etched metal grab rails and other features found on the real vehicle. Externally it has flush glazing and working steering. Like the other Rapido bus models it will be available in two versions; standard & deluxe, the deluxe version has additional working headlights, interior lighting & illuminated destination displays. The injection moulded plastic models will be have multiple front end variations to represent the different light arrangements & grilles found on these vehicles. Various route & destination options will also be offered. Release dates & prices are still to be announced. Next EFE Model Release |
Bachmann Europe have announced the next EFE model release will be the London RT depicting Catford Garage's last crew operated vehicle to be used on route 75 on the 25th February 1977. The model is exact replica of the real RT3853 and carries the same authentic period advertisements applied to the vehicle on its final day in service at the garage. This release also comes with an individually numbered certificate which confirms it is a limited edition of 800 models. A brief history of the vehicle is printed on the rear of the certificate. The model will be available from Bachmann appointed Stockists soon and is an Transport for London officially licensed product. Citibus Model Kits News |
The latest resin kit from Citibus Models has now been released and is a 10.5m Arriva version of the ADL Enviro 400MMC double decker. The kit is priced £45.00 plus £4.50 uk p&p. As usual with these kits the production runs are based on pre-orders so stock is limited. CM010 ADL Enviro 400 MMC 10.5m (Arriva Group version) The earlier National Express version of the ADL Enviro 400 MMC is also still available following a second production run. CM003 ADL Enviro 400MMC (National Express coach spec) Citibus Models have also recently announced three new kits which will be available during 2019. CM007 Wright Streetdeck Long Wheelbase (Bus Eireann) - Expected Jan/Feb 19 CM008 Wright Streetdeck Short Wheelbase high rood (First Group) - Expected Mar/Apr 19 CM009 Wright Streetdeck Short Wheelbase low roof (Arriva Group) The above are all single door but a further dual door short wheelbase London version is also in development. Pre-orders are being accepted for three announced above. The Citibus Facebook page has photographs of a long wheelbase version of the Wright Streetlite that is also in development for 2019. UKBUS0061 was originally announced as UKBUS6505, but due to the model not matching the exact length of the real vehicle 758 (YX64 VRU) it was changed. Three Further Bus Kits From Peco |
Peco have added three further variations of the Leyland National & Leyland Olympian kits to their Modelscene range. (see the news item posted on the 21st November for the other bus kits in the range) The latest kits have an RRP of £8.95 for the Leyland Nationals & £10.75 for Leyland Olympian double decker. Each kit contains pre-coloured parts and transfers, but require glue and detail painting to complete. These kits seem to be based on those formerly produced by Tower Models, that range also included London RT & RTL models plus several UK tram kits, its not yet known if Peco plan to re-release these as well. 5142 Red Vari-kit - Leyland National Mark I 5143 Green Vari-kit - Leyland National Mark I 5503 Blackpool Corporation - Single Door Leyland Olympian These kits have been released to model retailers who stock the Peco range. |
