Cobham Bus Museum Models
The Cobham Bus Museum web site has released the following details in regards to the two special commissioned models that will be available at the Fathers Day Event on Sunday the 17th June and which I mentioned in the news item posted on the 5th May.

  • Limited to a run of only 267 pieces (27810B), STL 2608 will be depicted in LT Country livery, with appropriate period advertisements, on route 408 via West Croydon and Leatherhead to Guildford, Horse & Groom. Prior to the construction of Guildford’s Onslow Street Bus station, the 408 commenced its return journey from Ward Street close to the ill-fated Horse & Groom public house.

  • The second model (30004B), T498, is limited to a run of just 236 pieces. During the early 1950’s a number of Country Area 10T10’s were modified and repainted red for Central Area operation. Because of delays in the availability of the new RF class, a number of these modified red buses were used on some Country routes. T 498 was one of these vehicles, and prior to being transferred to Loughton, worked the 425 route between Guildford & Dorking.

The models will be restricted to a maximum of one of each per person on the day of the event and if any remain after these will be available by mail order. Further details of how to apply for these can be found on the museum's website www.lbpt.org.

The four new models are reported to be:

Eastern Scottish Alexander Y coach

No further details in regards to fleet numbers or destinations etc are given in the article and as yet there's no news of when these are actually expected to be released by the LT Museum.
