Four Confirmed Releases & Two New Models Announced |
EFE have now released the following models.
28818 Oxford Cityline - Leyland Titan Dual Door Double Deck Bus 34403 Spiers of Melksham - AEC Mark V 4 Axle Flatbed Lorry 36401 Robsons of Carlisle - Foden S24 Articulated Flatbed Lorry In addition to the four models revealed at Cobham (5th April report) EFE have announced a further pair of new models via their latest trade release sheet. 37101 Associated Lead - ERF KV 4 Axle Dropside Lorry |

The latest newsletter from London Bus Retail mentions that a green pre-war RT on driver training duties is being commissioned by the Cobham Bus Museum, it is hoped that it will be ready in time for the Museum's August bank holiday open day. A reminder that this year's EFE sponsored Showbus International Rally will once again take place at the Duxford Imperial War Museum on Sunday the 27th September. |
Another Isle of Wright Line Tube Set |
The Metromodels website news page has details of a second EFE Isle of Wight Line set. The set will feature 1938 tube stock carriages in the standard BR Network South East livery, EFE have not yet set a release date for the set. Metromodels also have a range of DIY kits which can be used to motorise the standard EFE tube carriage models, for the less adventurous there is also a option of buying models ready motorised. The site is well worth a visit for anyone interested in tube train models and has many photographs of working tube train layouts along with hints & tips. |

EFE have updated their official website with the contact details of a large number of retailers who stock their products, the release sheet section has also been updated with PDF versions of some of the more recent 2008 & 2009 sheets in most cases the reserve side of the sheets that often contain Fleet Focus lists can also be downloaded. Another Arriva Heritage Model |
Tony Price over at www.themodelbus.com has come across an article on the Arriva website that mentions another commissioned EFE Routemaster is on the cards to join the RMC & gold RM released last year. An event is being organised at the London Transport Museum in Covent Garden between the 8 and 10 May to mark the completion of the project to restore the lowest numbered production Routemaster RM5. The article mentions that a DVD describing the restoration project and a limited edition model of the vehicle will be available at the event. The LT Museum Shop have confirmed the existence of the model in a Friends of the Museum newsletter RM5 pictured before it's recent restoration at the 2006 Cobham Bus Museum Gathering RM5 will join Arriva's Heritage fleet and is due to make it's public debut on the Sunday 3 May when it is scheduled to take part in the annual HCVS London to Brighton Run. It will also be parked on the piazza adjacent to the London Transport Museum on the 9 & 10 May. The full article can be found on the Arriva Heritage Fleet website. |

Four New Models Shown At Cobham |
EFE had four new models on display at their stand at the Cobham Bus Museum Open Day today, along with a selection of recent & forthcoming releases. The four new models (please note: pictures show pre-production samples): 16324 Durham District Services - Bristol LS ECW Single Deck Bus 19304 J.A. Smith - Atkinson Articulated Flatbed Lorry 24326 Hebble Motor Services - BET 1950's Single Deck Bus 32205 United NBC - Bristol RELH Coach If any stock does remains, models can be mail ordered from the Museum shop, full details can be found on the Museum's website www.lbpt.org/events.html. One of the highlights at this year's Cobham Open Day was the official relaunch of the freshly restored RT1 which is pictured below with the last of the class RT4825.
