Forward Models Press Release |
Derek Perry from Forward Models has contact with an update on the progress of the new Birmingham Standard Die-cast models. The models have now been manufactured in China and are currently be shipped to the UK. They should be released during September. Derek writes.. There are five models but the first two (2533 and 2548) are MUSEUM EDITIONS and only available from museums (or direct from Forward Models). This is so that we can donate 20% of the price to bus preservation projects, worth over £7 per bus sold. Bus 2533 is kept at The Transport Museum, Wythall and was the inspiration for our first model. When I saw the newly restored 2548, I decided to produce it as a model as well! I found out how expensive it can be to restore a bus to its authentic condition and I hope this is one way I can help. If both Museum Editions sell out, we will raise up to £10,000 for bus preservation. The other three models are open editions, available widely through shops and internet sellers, often at a discount. Latest Kits From Kingsway Models |
The latest addition to the Kingsway Models range of London Transport Bus Garages is Nunhead AH. This was opened originally by the National Steam Car Co passing through LGOC to LT. It remained operational until 1954 and was afterwards used by coach companies and then Prince Marshall's Obsolete Fleet which provided ST 922 for central London vintage route 100. Now demolished (although part of the tower still remains amongst the housing on the site) this characterful building can be assembled without the LT signage to perhaps represent a bus garage for another company. You can also view the PDF flyer for Nunhead Garage kit HERE. Also available is a revamped Chelsham or Godstone kit. The kit is now deeper (6.75") although the same price as before. Note that the photos show the model affixed to a scenic board with a little extra detailing to show what results can be achieved. The garage doors can with care be repositioned as required. Either of these very similar garages can be built from the kit. You can also view the PDF flyer for the Chelsham & Godstone Garage kit HERE. Both of the above kits are priced £14 each (UK postage inclusive) and can be purchased online from www.kingswaymodels.com website. |
