Another Commissioned EFE Model For Bachmann

Bachmann has announced a new train pack that will include a specially commissioned EFE open top bus model. Click the image to view product page on the Bachmann site "The Shakespeare Express" gift pack (Ref: 30-525) is based upon the popular heritage steam rail tour that runs between Birmingham and Stratford-upon-Avon via the scenic North Warwickshire line. The EFE model is described as a Stratford-Upon-Avon Tour bus, but there is no indication of the operator or vehicle type at present. The pack will also contain a Hall Class locomotive in Great Western green livery, two umber & cream Pullman cars and a chocolate and cream coach. Guide Friday operated Bristol VRT open top vehicles in Stratford so that might be a possible candidate for the said EFE model. The gift pack which doesn't include any track has a RRP of £199.95, it will be interesting to see if EFE also produce as stand alone variant of the model for those not wanting an expensive train & rolling stock!

Confirmed New Oxford Models For 2014

Artwork showing the new Oxford Diceast models I reported last week have now been published. The exact difference between the origianal Southdown Leyland Royal Tiger 76LRT002 & the planned 76LRT002A isn't clear at this stage, but could concern the modified beading used on the first issue. All the models are scheduled for release in the third quarter of 2014. New Bus for London Model Is A Corgi Direct Exclusive

The pair of London General New Bus for London models with Zoopla adverts announced by Corgi on Boxing Day are now reported to be for the Corgi Direct mail order operation and will not be available from other retail outlets. OM46610A Go Ahead London General (route 11 Liverpool Street) - New Bus for London OM46610B Go Ahead London General (route 11 Fulham Broadway) - New Bus for London The models are expected to be released in April but haven't as yet been added to the Corgi Direct online store. Corgi have also revised the destinations on the forthcoming pair of National Express West Midlands Wright Eclipse II single deck bus models. OM46704A will now be 27 Wolverhampton via Gornal Wood instead of 27 Wolverhampton via Goldthorn Park, while OM46704B will be 27 Dudley via Gornal Wood instead of 126E Dudley via Roseville.

New Oxford Models For 2014?

The Model Auto Review site has published a list of future Oxford Diecast models which are expected to be released in the third quarter of 2014. As yet there has been no official confirmation of the list from Oxford Diecast, although some of the new tooling included was confirmed at the recent London Toy Fair. Two Corgi 1/50 Scale Routemasters Announced

Corgi have exhibited pair of 1/50 scale Routemaster models at the London Toy Fair this week as part of a preview of some of the items planned for the second half 2014 catalogue due to be published in March. The Routemaster models are being produced to tie in with this year's 60th Anniversary of the bus. The first is of RM8 in its as delivered livery featuring special Routemaster advertising and destination displays. The second model depicts RM1737 on route 11 in the 1980's version of the red livery with white between decks band & roundels. The models appear briefly in a video posted by the Collectors Club of Great Britain which covers some of the other highlights from the this year's trade fair. (The Routemaster models appear towards the end of the video at around the 3:50 mark.)

Confirmed EFE Release
