The Jet Petrol AEC Mammoth Major Mark III 21 December
Thanks to Ron Calcott at The Model Store / Allsorts I'm able to bring you a picture of this rather elusive code 2 model (30101) produced by EFE for Jet Petrol. The model comes supplied in a special red box which includes information about the tankers history on the rear.
Currently this model is being used by Jet as promotional corporate gift and is not as yet being offered to the general public.

New EFE Subscriber Model 18 December
The latest EFE Subscribers Newsletter includes an order form for a new member's model, the subject being London Transport Routemaster RM1414 which was loaned to Manchester City Transport in 1963.
This particular vehicle has been modeled by EFE before, back in November 1996 a pair of code 2 models ( 15608E and 15608F ) were produced for Buses Magazine and the Manchester Transport Museum.
This model appears to have the same route number and near side advert as the Manchester Museum version, however a different destination and additional front adverts do feature.

    15635B - AEC Routemaster (RM)
Operator        : London Transport (on loan to Manchester City Transport)
       Registration  : 414 CLT
       Fleet No.         : RM 1414

Jet Petrol Tanker
The first of the new AEC Mammoth Major Mark III trucks 30101 was released back in October and took the form of a commissioned tanker model produced for Jet Petrol to mark it's 50th Anniversary.
The latest EFE Newsletter reveals that the model is being used by Jet as a corporate gift, and at present is not available to the public.
The good news for collectors is that Jet do propose to make some of these models available to the public in a few months time.
EFE intend to give more details via it's Subscribers Newsletter when known.

A Possible Fourth RT 50 Variation 5 December
The London RT produced in 1989 for the RT50 event is already known to exist in three versions. Two green with either yellow or beige between decks band and a red version. All these models carry fleet number RT3254, however Syd Ede appears to have come a cross a fourth version which he acquired on the internet believing it to be a standard red version. It appears that this may be some sort of factory error, as the model is made up of the top deck from the red RT 50 and the bottom deck from the Star Group RTW with legal lettering. The Star Group and RT 50 models were both released in August 1989, so they would have probably been manufactured around the same time making the existence of this model all the more likely.

Syd has kindly supplied pictures of this unusual model and they can be viewed by using the link below. The pictures of the base don't appear to reveal any clear signs of tampering as such.
At present it is not known whether this is unique or just one of a batch of similar models. It might be time to check your own example!
