The first shots of the new RELH Coach were displayed at the Toy Fair in February, EFE have identified that there are a couple of refinements needed, including the removal of an air vent on the near side which was a non standard feature and some changes to the roof dome on one of the body variants. Once this is complete the moulds will be hardened and polished ready for production to start.
Production of The first Gilbow 1:24th DMS 99101 has been split with 600 being produced so far, and another 300 due to follow after the Chinese New Year period. The next version will feature Norbiton garage, 99102 will carry blinds for routes 131 (weekdays), 131 (Sundays), 213, 213A & 285, further versions are planned for garages like as Barking, Catford, Holloway, Croydon, Walthamstow and more.
There's news of the new Routemaster series, this will comprise of eight models which will be released separately over a period of about six months commencing in the later half of this year. The models will consist of, RM1 Prototype, RM, RMC, RMA, RML, RCL and RMF, the eighth model will be one of the last day of route 159 RML's. All will be issued in special customised boxes.
I've also been informed that when asked at Acton, Frank Joyce indicated that the Airport RMA Routemaster would indeed be issued with a luggage trailer when the appropriate liveries called for it.
The remaining two new truck cabs should also make an appearance later this year, their release has been held back to coincide with new chassis tooling for a short wheel base tipper and dropside, and articulated versions of the round and elliptical tankers.
The commissioned Delaine models being produced for Diecast Collector Magazine are due to be posted out by EFE around the middle of March.
Finally the following models are expected to be released during March.
20437 Bristol VRT - Damory Coaches
24323 BET Willowbrook - South Wales Transport NBC
14603 Leyland National - Pennine
