The Brewery Series Models
The Brewery Series range was introduced in 1997, and focuses on trucks used by some of the UK's many Brewery Companies. This range along with the Grocery Series was introduced around the same time that the main truck range gained it's own districtive 'Commercial' packaging. This re-branding was designed to give the trucks a much higher profile within the bus and coach dominated model range.
The range has included models carrying only three of the four early truck cabs. The original AEC Mammoth Major truck never featured in the range although a variety of brewery related models were issued before the introduction of this series.
Many of the models in this series carry extra detailing, this includes large advertising boards, and retaining chains or bars on the flatbeds and dropsides, all the issues bar the tankers, and box van have had suitable loads included, mainly beer barrels, kegs, and crates of beer.
All the models were issued in the green and maroon 'Brewery Series' boxes.
To identify the models issued in this series I've added the suffix code 'BS' to their catalogue numbers. Please note this unofficial code does not appear on the actual EFE Packaging.
The majority of the models were released between 1997 & 1999 with the final two appearing in 2003, A re-worked version of one of the Bedford TK models was issued in its original packaging to mark EFE's 20th Anniversary in 2009, however all brewery related lorries issued since 2003 have been packaged in the standard Commercial Series packaging. |
