The Duple Commander body was first introduced to the body builders range in 1964, in all there were five design variations of the body which mainly involved a change in the design of the front grille. The final mark V design being introduced for the 1969 season.
This body was mounted on wide range of then current chassis type available from AEC, Leyland Ford & Bedford. It seems have been popular mainly with smaller independent operators, although larger operators such as Southdown, Yorkshire Traction & Hants & Dorset also took batches of the mark II version.
The Oxford model was first announced in June 2018 and with the first release expected in the second quarter of 2019. |
