Showbus 2007 Model Revealed
The latest EFE Subscriber's newsletter has given details of the special model which will be available from the EFE marquee at this years Showbus International Rally. This years event takes place on Sunday 16th September and the venue is once again the Duxford Imperial War Museum.

This years model will be the first release of the new London Transport STD and will feature the capital's STD38 (DLU 348) on route 13 bound for London Bridge Station (33601). The models will be available on the day of the event for a "very special low price" but subscriber's unable to attend are also being given the opportunity to mail order the model for £20 (including UK p&p).

The newsletter also mentions that anyone planning to attend the Showbus Rally can take advantage of a ticket pre booking offer that gives a discount of £2.00 on the entrance price. To take advantage of this offer you need to phone the Imperial War Museum's pre booking hot line on 01223 499353 before the offer closing date of 9th September.

RT Casting Update
The cracked RT lower deck core tooling reported in the last newsletter has now been replaced and first shots for the 2RT2, RT2 & RT3 models have been received and are reported to look excellent. The new mould tooling is now being progressed so that all the many moulded and cast parts fit together correctly before the moulds are hardened and polished ready to be handed over for production to start.

Victoria Coach Station Series
The recent series of six models produced for the London Transport Museum are now being mailed out and have generated such a level of interest that consideration is now being given to adding additional models to the series. (See 10th August news item for further details)

Forthcoming Releases
No new models are listed on the latest newsletter however the new Bedford TK articulated tanker in Texaco livery is confirmed as having catalogue number 33401. The next release of Tube Train carriages, Metropolitan East London Line, have been allocated a set catalogue number of 99931.

Code 3 Re-working of North Weald Bus Rally Routemaster
A revised code 3 version of the London Transport Routemaster produced for this years North Weald Bus Rally (31501A) has been released by London Bus Retail.
31501A/1 is certificated run of 75 models that have been re-worked by London Bus Repaints & Transfers and now carry the revised destination of Stratford.
Peter Coe at London Bus Retail has ask me to point out that all stock of this model has now been sold.

Eight new models with release dates expected between September & November have been announced by EFE via a dealers advance order release sheet.

Hong Kong Version of the 1/24th MCW Metrobus
A set of pictures of an Hong Kong version of a 1/24th MCW Metrobus models produced by Best Choose have been published on Graham White's www.orientalmodelbuses.co.uk site. Bearing in mind the origin of Gilbow's 1/24th DMS model this new model may well give some clues of what to expect from the forthcoming UK Gilbow releases.
