Latest EFE Newsletter |
The 5th Subscribers' newsletter arrived this morning along with Release Sheet 5 2011. Also included is an updated Subscriber Back Stock List which contains five A4 pages of past EFE releases at special reduced subscriber only prices. Subscriber Model Over Subscribed! The recent subscriber only London Transport RMF Routemaster (32101A) has completely sold out and EFE say they were surprised by the large demand for this particular model which resulted in them being unable to supply all subscribers requesting one with an example. All the orders were strictly processed by dated received and in this particular case those who requested multiple models were restricted to just one to make the allocation as fair as possible. Tooling Update The latest news on the new tooling is that the patterns are now complete for multi-windowed Alexander Y type bus and Bristol RE coach version, the mould tooling is now underway for these and EFE are waiting to know when the first shots will be available. The Bristol VR1 patterns have been completed and EFE are waiting to inspect these before giving the final go ahead for the new mould tooling to begin. The mould tooling is almost complete for the Single Deck Routemaster and EFE should be able to see the first shots in the next 2-3 weeks. Commissioned Models Update EFE have confirmed they have produced a commissioned model for the Cobham Bus Museum, this will initially be available to the Museum's Members only and available at a special event for them at the New Museum at Brooklands. The model features RTL139 (KGK 803) on route 277 to Smithfield and has been allocated stock number 36002B. Any surplus stock will be sold after this event and EFE will give further details in a future newsletter. The Routemaster Association RML on route 104 is mentioned, (see news item posted on June 3) These models are now available from the Association together with a free book if required. For further details phone 01327 830663 or write to: RM Association, Abercorn House, York Farm Business Centre, Walting Street, Towcester NN12 8EU. Two Commissioned EFE Models |
Stuart Tsar has sent me details of two further London Transport EFE models. The first was mentioned briefly in the last EFE newsletter and now the Routemaster Association has placed adverts in model magazines giving details of the special EFE Routemaster model that is being produced to mark the 50th Anniversary of the long Routemaster vehicles (RML class) first entry into service in 1961. |

The London Bus Preservation Trust are releasing an EFE model of their own preserved RTL139 bus, the model is depicted working on route 277 to Smithfield and carries Ty-Phoo nearside & Weston Biscuits front adverts. The model is understood to be an exclusive item for the Trust's members and is due to be released later this Summer at a special members only Open Day at the new Cobham Bus Museum at Brooklands. It's not known if this is a EFE code 2 commission or a third party code 3 item. A public open day at the new museum is planned in August but it isn't clear whether this particular RTL model will be subsequently offered to the general public. |
