Confirmed model releases 29th June 2006
    The models below have now been released by EFE. I've been informed that the outstanding balance of the first Gilbow 1:24th DMS model has also been released.

EFE news round up 23rd June 2006
    The new RELH coach is now completed and the tooling has been released for production. EFE have just received the first decorated samples so it shouldn't be long before we see them.

    The Charity Auction for the 30 remaining AEC 10T10 wedding buses has been going well , the amount of response and level of bids received has lead to consideration being given to splitting the proceeds between more than one charity. The closing date for bids has been extended to the 14th July due to the forthcoming EFE staff holidays. see the 27th May news item for more bidding details.

    Aston Manor Transport Museum have commissioned EFE to produce a special model to coincide with the 80th anniversary of Birmingham's Outer Circle bus route. The model numbered 30505A is a Guy GS used by West Midlands Travel, fleet number 233 H registered MXX 341 working a service to Stone Cross. The model will be available at the museum for the 80th anniversary open day on the 9th July, and any remaining models will be available after the event by mail order. First shots of the improved Routemasters published 23rd June 2006
    EFE has published pictures of the first shots of the new and improved Routemaster models, the pictures are described as work in progress and show the RM, RML, RMA, RMF, RMC & RCL versions in an unpainted state.

  All the models will feature new flush glazing, the rear entrance versions will have a glazed bulk head, ticket collection box and handrail. The front entrance versions will have a drivers viewing window. All the models will be fitted with rear view mirrors which will come in two types either circular or rectangular to match the period of the particular vehicle modeled.

  The first eight models are to be released as part of "The Routemaster Series'" and will be housed in special customized boxes. The identities of the eight models have now been revealed, click the fleet numbers below to see the picture of the new casting.

  The eight models will be released in batches and not all at one time. The original BEA, BA and Northern liveries for the RMA's and RMF's will be released in the New Year as standard issues.

Cobham Bus Museum release a roof box RT 19th June 2006

    A previously unannounced commissioned model was released at the latest Cobham Bus Museum Open Day held on Sunday the 18th June. The model is based on recent standard release 16407 but has a different near side advert and route details. The model is a limited edition of 510 certificated pieces, interestingly the certificate states the model has been produced for the Museum's 2006 Open Days, which suggests it will also be available at forthcoming events. Thanks are extended to Anne Letch for bringing this model to my attention.

North West Museum of Transport's Widnes National 18th June 2006
    EFE have produced a special version of the recent Widnes Corporation Leyland National 17305A for the North West Museum of Transport in St Helens, the model was originally due to have been released at a rally on the 11th June but due to the refurbishment of the Museum not being completed in time this event was postponed.

  The model which depicts the museum's preserved Mark I Leyland National RTC645L is however being made available by mail order by the museum and differs from the standard EFE version by having a different route and destination display.
The models cost £22.00 each plus £2.00 post & packaging and can be ordered by ringing 01925 637511 between 10am and 5pm on any day except Thursday and Sunday.
