ukbus 1036 Alexander Dennis ALX400-bodied Trident
Stagecoach in Oxfordshire

CMNL is proud to release a brand new livery on its well-known casting – the Alexander Dennis ALX400-bodied Trident. This is ukbus 1036 carrying standard Stagecoach livery but with special route branding livery.

This model represents Stagecoach in Oxfordshire 18394 (KX55 TLN). This is the second Stagecoach in Oxfordshire ADL ALX400-bodied Trident model that CMNL produced. The previous one is ukbus 1026 with brookes bus colours.

Stagecoach in Oxfordshire 18394 is one of a fleet of seven Tridents introduced onto route 27 in March 2006 to replace Volvo B10M single deckers. Route 27 operates between Oxford and Bicester up to every 15 minutes at busy times with three main route variants around Bicester – 27A to Glory Farm and Launton, 27B to Glory Farm and Langford and 27C to Ambrosden and Arncott.

18394 is one of three vehicles which carry supplementary branding for the Bicester Duo ticket which was introduced during 2007. The ticket allows two people to travel from Bicester to Oxford for the price of one.

The replica features excellent detailing, inside and out, including an opening engine door, engine detail and the representation of LED lights at the rear. This is a one-piece casting whose clean lines accentuate the windows and livery application on which all logos and lettering are clearly legible. The model has no unnecessary metal poles to hold it together.

It will be a good opportunity to make a twin Stagecoach in Oxfordshire bus model set with ukbus 1036 and ukbus 1025 representing the common street scene in Oxford.

The brand new ukbus 1036 model is based on a Limited Edition of 1100 pieces produced. They will be distributed by John Ayrey Die-Casts Limited (UK), Transit Graphics (Australia), Porte Publishing Company (Japan), cnmycar.com (P.R. China) and Concorde Hobby Shop (HK) respectively.

 ukbus 6011 Alexander Dennis Enviro400
Stagecoach in East Kent

Creative Master Northcord Limited is pleased to announce the release of Alexander Dennis Enviro400 ukbus 6011, the fourth version of Stagecoach livery on the re-tooled casting of this distinctive modern double-decker in the United Kingdom. ukbus 6011 is one of the planned releases for Period 1 of 2008, however, in order to fill a production slot in the factory, it is being released early to cover for the delayed ukbus 5014 Mercedes-Benz Citaro / Arriva (Mercedes-Benz World).

ukbus 6011 represents fleet number 19025 (SN56 AVP).

The vehicle is featured on the front cover of “Buses Yearbook 2008” edited by Stewart J Brown and published by Ian Allan, showing that it is one of the important buses in the UK in 2007.

June 2007 saw Stagecoach in East Kent upgrade route 16 and 17 between Folkstone and Canterbury, using seven nearly-new Alexander Dennis Enviro400 low floor double-deckers, transferred in from Stagecoach in Newcastle. An eighth bus was due to join them in late August.

Branded as “The Link”, DIRECT route 16 runs via Hawkinge, whilst SCENIC route 17 runs via picturesque Elham Valley. The buses carry branding for both routes.

“The Link” is the company’s latest investment in fully accessible buses, over 80 of which have been introduced in the last three years.

Creative Master Northcord is creating new design standards in the layout of the interior of both saloons. The features inside the compartments represent the really outstanding layout of the bus, including the extensive portrayal of handrails on both upper and lower decks. The headlights at the front are made of individual components to look more realistic.

CMNL’s Enviro400 model ukbus 6011 has additional features to Stagecoach ‘Provincial’ specification, including newly designed windows at the driving cab, an additional rear-facing seat at the rear of the upper-deck and newly designed rear dome incorporating a representation of the opening emergency window but lacking the indent for additional upper-saloon ventilation equipment found on other Enviro400s.

The brand new Enviro400 bus models will be distributed by John Ayrey Die-Casts Limited (UK), Transit Graphics (Australia), cnmycar.com (P. R. China), Porte Publishing Company (Japan) and Concorde Hobby Shop (HK) respectively. The ukbus 6011 model is limited to 1000 pieces worldwide.

 ukbus 8003 Alexander Dennis Enviro200Dart
Stagecoach in Hampshire
NEW CASTING

Creative Master Northcord Limited is pleased to announce the release of Alexander Dennis Enviro200Dart ukbus 8003, the 10.7m long wheelbase version with gasket windows of the long-awaited new casting of this distinctive modern single-decker in the United Kingdom.

The first livery to be carried on the brand new model is Stagecoach in Hampshire with special “Switch” livery.

ukbus 8003 represents fleet number 36019 (GX07 FXG).

A fleet of 11 new environmentally friendly ADL Enviro200Dart buses were launched in Winchester on 9th July 2007.

Following a £1.3 million investment by Stagecoach, the new buses are used on two re-branded ‘Switch’ routes. Route 1 runs between the city centre, Harestock and Stanmore, every 15 minutes, and route 5 runs between the city centre, Winnail and Badger Farm, every 10 minutes, Monday to Saturday daytimes.

These Enviro200Dart buses have Euro4 engines and use a special exhaust treatment called Adblue which uses a chemical version of Urea to reduce the carbon footprint by up to 100 tonnes compared to the buses previously used on the same routes.

To reflect the environmental benefits, and to symbolise the surrounding countryside, all 11 buses used on the Switch routes were individually given sheep names. The buses are named Bah Bah, Dolly, Shaun, Lamb Chop, Mint Sauce, Bo Peep, Larry, Lamby, Mary, Woolly and Flossy. ukbus 8003 has the name Lamby.

The Alexander Dennis Enviro200Dart ukbus 8003 is a one-piece casting whose clean lines accentuate the square-mounted, gasket windows and the livery application on which all logos and lettering are clearly legible.

Creative Master Northcord is creating new design standards in the layout of the interior in the replica. These features inside the compartment represent the really outstanding layout of the Enviro200Dart, such as the additional seats on the wheel arch on the offside, and extensive portrayal of handrails in the compartment.

The brand new Enviro200Dart bus models will be distributed by John Ayrey Die-Casts Limited (UK), Transit Graphics (Australia), Porte Publishing Company (Japan), cnmycar.com (P.R. China) and Concorde Hobby Shop (HK) respectively. The ukbus 8003 model is limited to 1400 pieces worldwide.

ukbus 4013 Alexander Royale-bodied Volvo Olympian
Western Greyhound

Since the operation of London’s Airbus routes ceased a few years ago, the new lives of the ex-Airbus Volvo Olympian / Alexander Royales have been of interest to British enthusiasts. Creative Master Northcord Limited is releasing the fourth livery on the Airbus / ex-Airbus replica – ukbus 4013, in Western Greyhound colours.

ukbus 4013 represents fleet number 600 (N600 WGL). Bus 600 was delivered new to London United in the spring of 1996 (registered N124 YRW) for London Airbus services. National Express purchased the Airbus operation from London United in 1999 along with the 19 Olympians which operated it. These vehicles were unusual in having Air Conditioning, only 9 seats in the lower saloon, luggage racks and a wheelchair space & lift.

Following the reduction of Airbus services, Western Greyhound acquired this Olympian from the dealer Ensignbus.

Western Greyhound is an independent bus operator based in Newquay, Cornwall and was set up in 1998. It runs a highly standardised fleet of 60 Mercedes-Benz 814 / Plaxton Beaver 2s, 10 Olympians, Volvo B10 / Van Hool coaches, plus a small selection of heritage vehicles.

This particular bus was fleet number 600 and was purchased specially to operate the new 737 dedicated service between Truro and the expanding Newquay Airport when Ryanair commenced operations.

Similar to those Airbus / ex-Airbus replicas, ukbus 4013 has a new combination of the ukbus 4000 series casting, with a single door, front staircase and bonded windows, as well as chair lift poles at the entrance, brand new seats and luggage rack in the lower saloon and ventilation windows on the roof.

ukbus 4013 is a one-piece casting whose clean lines accentuate the bonded windows and livery application on which all logos and lettering are clearly legible. The headlight and indicator units at the front are made of individual components to look more realistic.

The brand new single-door Alexander Royale Volvo Olympian double-deck bus models will be distributed by John Ayrey Die-Casts Limited (UK), Transit Graphics (Australia), Porte Publishing Company (Japan), cnmycar.com (P.R. China) and Concorde Hobby Shop (HK) respectively. The ukbus 4013 model is limited to 1100 pieces worldwide.

 ukbus 8002 Alexander Dennis Enviro200Dart
Plymouth Citybus
NEW CASTING

Creative Master Northcord Limited is pleased to announce the release of Alexander Dennis Enviro200Dart ukbus 8002, the 10.7m long wheelbase version of the long-awaited new casting of this distinctive modern single-decker in the United Kingdom.

The first livery to be carried on the brand new model is Plymouth Citybus  with special Plymouth waterfront livery.

ukbus 8002 represents fleet number 133 (WA56 HHO).

Plymouth Citybus placed its very first Enviro200Darts into service in October 2006 and they carry a special livery for service 34. This route connects the City centre with fashionable waterfront developments, the focal point of which is the historic Royal William Yard that was once a key installation for the Royal Navy. Route 34 also serves Stoke Village, Milehouse, Crownhill and Derriford Hospital.

Investment in these vehicles has taken place in partnership with The South West Regional Development Agency who is playing a lead role in the regeneration of the Plymouth waterfront.

The Alexander Dennis Enviro200Dart ukbus 8002 is a one-piece casting whose clean lines accentuate the square-mounted, bonded windows and the livery application on which all logos and lettering are clearly legible.

The ukbus 8002 model is limited to 1300 pieces worldwide.

 TransBus Mini Pointer-bodied Dart
ukbus 3029 Southern Vectis

Further to the previous successful release of the Mini Pointer Dart replicas in liveries of operators serving southern England, CMNL is releasing another MPD model. This is ukbus 3029 carrying the brand new Southern Vectis livery.

A reduction in vehicle requirements at Solent Blue Line coincided with an increased need for further low-floor vehicles at Southern Vectis. Two of the batch of 12 MPDs delivered to SBL in 2003 were transferred to the Isle of Wight in September 2006 and carry the single deck version of the latest Southern Vectis livery designed by Best Impressions.

ukbus 3029 Southern Vectis MPD replica carries the fleet number 316 (SN03 LDU).

ukbus 3029 carries the third livery featured on the MPDs running in the Southern Vectis fleet. It represents the new ownership of the company as a member of the Go-Ahead Group.

This is a one-piece casting whose clean lines accentuate the gasket windows and livery application on which all logos and lettering are clearly legible. The model also features excellent detailing, inside and out, including an opening engine door, showing the detailed, environmentally friendly Euro 3 engine. All grab rails feature inside the replica and in their correct positions. The construction method of this replica permits realistic-looking front and rear lights – in particular the front headlamp / indicator assembly whose headlamp is transparent and indicator is translucent.

The brand new ukbus 3029 Southern Vectis MPD bus models are limited to 1100 pieces produced. It will be distributed by John Ayrey Die-Casts Limited (UK), Transit Graphics (Australia), cnmycar.com (P. R. China), Porte Publishing Company (Japan) and Concorde Hobby Shop (HK) respectively.

 ukbus 6010 Alexander Dennis Enviro400
The Demonstrator

Creative Master Northcord Limited is pleased to announce the release of Alexander Dennis Enviro400 ukbus 6010, the exclusive livery on the casting of a distinctive modern double-decker in the United Kingdom.

The Alexander Dennis Enviro400 is a revolutionary body design on an evolutionary development of the already successful Dennis Trident. Launched in late 2005, it has taken the London double deck market by storm with its stylish new looks.

The Enviro400 is fitted with the Cummins ISBe Euro IV engine which has demonstrated some 18% reduction in fuel consumption over the earlier Euro III Trident. On a typical London route, this can save around 18 tonnes of CO2 per year.

ukbus 6010 represents the demonstrator (SK07 DYB) that is Alexander Dennis’ second demonstrator which is fitted with Voith D854.5 transmission.

Creative Master Northcord is creating new design standards in the layout of the interior of both saloons. The features inside the compartments represent the really outstanding layout of the bus, including the extensive portrayal of handrails on both upper and lower decks. The headlights at the front are made of individual components to look more realistic.

The brand new Enviro400 bus models will be distributed by John Ayrey Die-Casts Limited (UK), Transit Graphics (Australia), cnmycar.com (P. R. China), Porte Publishing Company (Japan) and Concorde Hobby Shop (HK) respectively. The ukbus 6010 model is limited to 1200 pieces worldwide.

 ukbus 6009 Alexander Dennis Enviro400
Stagecoach in Lancashire

Creative Master Northcord Limited is pleased to announce the release of Alexander Dennis Enviro400 ukbus 6009, the third livery on the newly re-tooled casting of a distinctive modern double-decker in the United Kingdom.

ukbus 6009 represents fleet number 19031 (SN56 AVX) that was new to Stagecoach in Newcastle (Busways Travel Services Ltd.) in 2006 before transfer across to the west to operate from Preston depot.

ukbus 6009 carries route branding of Stagecoach in Lancashire’s Citi 2 service which is one of the success stories of the deregulated bus industry in the United Kingdom.

Starting life as a series of disparate routes and numbers, linking Southport, Preston and Longridge, the decision was made in 2004, to simplify the numbering, the route and to improve the timetable. Since then, Citi 2 has gone from strength to strength, seeing growth of over 30% in the last three years. Last year, the Company decided to trial 24 hour operation at weekends between Preston and Longridge – a first for the Preston area. This experiment proved such a success that Stagecoach in Lancashire is considering further, with similar improvements elsewhere across the network. To reflect the growth in patronage and to replace the varied, tired fleet that operated the old service 2, it was decided that fifteen nearly-new Enviro400 double-deck buses would be transferred from Stagecoach in Newcastle to provide a consistently high quality service and to simulate further growth by relaunching the route as part of the new Preston ‘Citi’ network. Early indications are that the new buses have been well received and are helping grow the market even further.

Creative Master Northcord is creating new design standards in the layout of the interior of both saloons. The features inside the compartments represent the really outstanding layout of the bus, including the extensive portrayal of handrails on both upper and lower decks. The headlights at the front are made of individual components to look more realistic.

CMNL’s Enviro400 model ukbus 6009 has additional features to Stagecoach ‘Provincial’ specification, including newly designed windows at the driving cab, an additional rear-facing seat at the rear of the upper-deck and newly designed rear dome incorporating a representation of the opening emergency window but lacking the indent for additional upper-saloon ventilation equipment found on other Enviro400s.

The brand new Enviro400 bus models will be distributed by John Ayrey Die-Casts Limited (UK), Transit Graphics (Australia), cnmycar.com (P. R. China), Porte Publishing Company (Japan) and Concorde Hobby Shop (HK) respectively. The ukbus 6009 model is limited to 1000 pieces worldwide.

 ukbus 6007 Alexander Dennis Enviro400
Stagecoach in Swindon

Creative Master Northcord Limited is pleased to announce the release of Alexander Dennis Enviro400 ukbus 6007, the second livery on the newly re-tooled casting of a distinctive modern double-decker in the United Kingdom.

ukbus 6007 represents fleet number 19129 (VX07 CYU) that was new to Stagecoach in Swindon in early 2007.

As on the previously released ukbus 6005 (Stagecoach in Manchester), the Enviro400 body as delivered to Stagecoach for ‘Provincial’ fleets differs from those delivered elsewhere because the staircase is not straight, but angled. This compact design maximises the number of seats for passengers, but the key signature of the straight staircase version, the single seat behind the driver’s cab, is lost. The re-tooled ukbus 6007 model replicates the angled staircase correctly.

The Alexander Dennis Enviro400 ukbus 6007 is a one-piece casting whose clean lines accentuate the square-mounted, gasket windows and the livery application on which all logos and lettering are clearly legible. Another main feature on the ukbus 6007 model is its dual individual tree protectors at the front. The front dome on the model is significant, with its curved windscreen.

ukbus 6007 carries route branding for “Trans Wilts Express”. The Trans Wilts Express runs six days a week from Swindon to Trowbridge via Devizes and Avebury and as far as Devizes from Swindon on Sunday. It is operated by Stagecoach in Swindon with three of these brand new Enviro400 double-decker buses, offering easy access downstairs and grandstand views of the Wiltshire countryside upstairs.

Creative Master Northcord is creating new design standards in the layout of the interior of both saloons. The features inside the compartments represent the really outstanding layout of the bus, including the extensive portrayal of handrails on both upper and lower decks. The headlights at the front are made of individual components to look more realistic.

CMNL’s re-tooled Enviro400 model ukbus 6007 has additional features to Stagecoach ‘Provincial’ specification, including newly designed windows at the driving cab, an additional rear-facing seat at the rear of the upper-deck and newly designed rear dome incorporating a representation of the opening emergency window but lacking the indent for additional upper-saloon ventilation equipment found on other Enviro400s.

The brand new Enviro400 bus models will be distributed by John Ayrey Die-Casts Limited (UK), Transit Graphics (Australia), cnmycar.com (P. R. China), Porte Publishing Company (Japan) and Concorde Hobby Shop (HK) respectively. The ukbus 6007 model is limited to 1000 pieces worldwide.

 ukbus 6008 Alexander Dennis Enviro400
Selkent

Following the great success of the launch models of the Alexander Dennis Enviro400 in two different overall lengths, Creative Master Northcord Limited is pleased to announce the release of ukbus 6006, the second dual-door, long-wheelbase Alexander Dennis Enviro400 model for a London operator, on this occasion in Selkent standard livery.

ukbus 6008 represents fleet number 19138 (LX56 EAW) that was new to Selkent in late 2006.

LX56 EAW is an Alexander Dennis Enviro400 double-deck bus operated by Selkent (South East London and Kent), part of the East London Bus Group. Numbered 19138, it is based at Selkent’s Bromley Garage and entered service in December 2006 specifically for use on Transport for London contracted route 61 which runs between Bromley North and Chiselhurst in south east London. These buses are Selkent’s first new double-deck buses since the sale of the company by the Stagecoach Group to Macquarie Bank.

The Alexander Dennis Enviro400 ukbus 6008 is a one-piece casting whose clean lines accentuate the square-mounted, gasket windows and the livery application on which all logos and lettering are clearly legible. Another main feature on the ukbus 6008 model is its dual individual tree protectors at the front. The front dome on the model is also significant, with its curved windscreen on the upper deck.

Creative Master Northcord is creating new design standards in the layout of the interior of both saloons. These features inside the compartments represent the really outstanding layout of the Enviro400, such as an additional seat behind the driving cab, additional ventilation equipment on the upper deck ceiling, and extensive portrayal of handrails on the upper and lower deck, etc. The headlights at the front are made of individual components to look more realistic.

The brand new Enviro400 bus models will be distributed by John Ayrey Die-Casts Limited (UK), Transit Graphics (Australia),
Porte Publishing Company (Japan), cnmycar.com (P. R. China) and Concorde Hobby Shop (HK) respectively. The ukbus 6008 model is limited to 1600 pieces worldwide.

 New Casting
ukvan 1001 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter
Panel Van – Dealer Stock White

Creative Master Northcord Limited is pleased to announce the release of ukvan 1001, the launch model of the second new casting introduced during 2007.

The launch model of the new casting is the
RHD panel van version and the ukvan 1000 series will also include the RHD Traveliner minibus and LHD panel van and Traveliner minibus versions.

The new casting is based on the new Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 311 CDI Panel Van with long wheelbase and high roof. The new Sprinter was introduced to the UK in late 2006 and the panel van featured has a 4325mm wheelbase, 6940mm overall length and 2820mm overall height. The interior headroom inside the cargo area is 1840mm which helps to give a total cargo capacity of 14m3.

The ukvan 1001 launch model is painted in Dealer Stock White. This version will allow collectors to avail themselves of the opportunity to use this CMNL Sprinter model as the basis for super-detailing by adding decals of their choosing or by adding additional livery detail or paintwork in order to enhance their OO-scale modern image model railway layout or 1:76 scale general transport diorama where it could undertake the role of a delivery van or support van for a bus or truck operator. Of course, ukvan 1001 could also be the starting point for a standalone collection of the ukvan 1000 series of Sprinter vans and minibuses.

ukvan 1001 carries the “Select” registration mark SV07 UKV which, at the time of the model’s release, was still unissued by DVLA.

Key features of the ukvan 1000 series, exemplified on ukvan 1001, include interior detail showing the driver’s instrument binnacle, steering wheel, single driver’s seat and twin passenger seat and also chassis detail that includes replicated drive-train and exhaust system as well as fuel tank and spare wheel. The windscreen wipers are individually made pieces and therefore the models are not suitable for children under 14 years of age. The panel van ukvan 1001 shows extra items that can be specified as factory or dealer-fitted optional equipment on the real Sprinter range – in this case the halogen fog lamps set into the front bumper, and the wheel trims that cover the standard steel wheels.

The ukvan 1001 model carries a numbered Limited Edition Certificate showing that it is one of a run of only 1200 pieces worldwide.

The brand new Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Panel Van models will be available through model shops and online dealers in the UK who will be supplied by John Ayrey Die-Casts Limited. The ukvan range will also be available through Transit Graphics (
Australia), Porte Publishing Company (Japan), cnmycar.com (P. R. of China) and Concorde Hobby Shop (HK) respectively.

 ukbus 7009 Scania OmniCity
Metrobus Rt.358

Creative Master Northcord Limited is releasing the ninth replica on its popular Scania OmniCity model tooling. It is ukbus 7009 in Metrobus Transport for London operation livery.

ukbus 7009 represents fleet number 520 (YN53 RXM).

Metrobus began life in 1983 with a fleet of six vehicles operating from a depot in Orpington, Kent. It was acquired by the Go-Ahead Group in 1999.

Metrobus started operating route 358 as a commercial venture in May 1989, with just two coach-operated return journeys on weekdays only. The route was very successful and was increased to hourly the following year and to every 20 minutes in 1992, when it was restructured to operate between Orpington Station and Crystal Palace.

In 2002, the 358 became a Transport for London contract with an increase in frequency to every 12 minutes. Metrobus retained the route on tender in 2003 and 17 new Scania Omnicities were delivered for the service. They were allocated fleet numbers 514-530 and followed on from an order for Metrobus’ Fastway operation in Crawley. The vehicles are dual door, have 37 seats and are 12 metres long and 2.55 metres wide. They were delivered painted red with a blue and yellow waistband, which was later removed.

The Scania OmniCity ukbus 7009 is a one-piece casting whose clean lines accentuate the square-mounted, double-glazed windows and the livery application on which all logos and lettering are clearly legible.

Key features of the ukbus 7000 series, exemplified on ukbus 7009, include two doors, an extensive portrayal of handrails and the headlight / indicator units at the front made of individual, translucent components to look more realistic.

As Metrobus is one of the loyal customers in the UK to the Scania OmniCity, CMNL has produced ukbus 7002 Metrobus Fastway (dual door) and ukbus 7005 Metrobus Rt.X26 (single door) since 2005. ukbus 7009 is the third batch of replicas showcasing Metrobus colours.

The service operates from the company’s Battersea depot using ADL Enviro400 vehicles which were introduced onto the 452 in February 2007. The 452 runs from Wandsworth Road Station to Kensal Rise via Sloane Square, Knightsbridge and Notting Hill Gate.  ukbus 4012 Alexander Royale-bodied
Volvo Olympian - First Somerset & Avon

There is no doubt that the Olympian was the most successful classic British double-decker in the last two decades of the 20th Century. When we recall all aspects of the Olympian, we will soon remember the last UK Olympian – W437 CWX.

Creative Master Northcord Limited is now making the above come true in replica form - its ukbus 4012, the Alexander Royale-bodied Volvo Olympian in its latest livery – First Bus.

ukbus 4012 represents fleet number 34110 (W437 CWX) that was delivered (as its fleet number 437) to Yorkshire Coastliner Ltd in August 2000, as part of a batch of seven 10.5 long vehicles with 72 seater Alexander Royale bodies, powered by Volvo 245 bhp 9.6 litre engines. These were the last Olympian chassis built for the British market, 437 being the very last to enter service (as replicated earlier by CMNL as its ukbus 4002).

Its delivery also marked the end of traditional, step-entry double-deck production in the United Kingdom, the Olympian being the ultimate development of a long line of successful Leyland buses.

After leaving Yorkshire Coastliner, this Volvo Olympian arrived in Bath in May 2006 and, to date, has been and still is operating the Bath / Chippenham 231/232 route.

ukbus 4012 is a one-piece casting whose clean lines accentuate the square-mounted gasket windows and livery application on which all logos and lettering are clearly legible. Another main feature on the ukbus 4012 model is its extensive handrails on both upper deck and lower deck.  It is one of the significant achievements on this new casting. The headlight and indicator units at the front are made of individual components to look more realistic.

The brand new single-door Alexander Royale Volvo Olympian double-deck bus models will be distributed by John Ayrey Die-Casts Limited (UK), Porte Publishing Company (Japan), Transit Graphics (Australia), cnmycar.com (P.R. China) and Concorde Hobby Shop (HK) respectively. The ukbus 4012 model is limited to 1300 pieces worldwide.

News Release - 12th July 2007

 Plaxton Mini Pointer-bodied Dennis Dart
ukbus 3028 Plymouth Citybus

Further to the great success of the previous launch of the Plymouth Citybus Mercedes-Benz Citaro models, CMNL is releasing another Plymouth Citybus bus model with this elegant livery – this time on the popular MPD casting. This is ukbus 3028 carrying Plymouth Citybus standard colours.

The ukbus 3028 Plymouth Citybus MPD replica carries the fleet number 203 and registration number X203 CDV.

Mini Pointer Dart fleet no 203 is one of five such vehicles that have entered service with Plymouth Citybus between 2000 and 2003 and are the second generation of smaller buses to operate in the City. They are carrying on a tradition that began with deregulation in 1986 when the Company introduced large numbers of van-derived Mini buses onto core routes in order to strengthen them against competition.

Such was the success of the first generation of mini buses that they were replaced by larger vehicles, so these days the MPDs concentrate on “niche” routes like Service 45 and 45A which operates “cross city”, linking Cattledown, the City centre and Devonport.

This is a one-piece casting whose clean lines accentuate the bonded windows and livery application on which all logos and lettering are clearly legible. The model also features excellent detailing, inside and out, including an opening engine door, showing the detailed, environmentally friendly engine. All grab rails feature inside the replica and in their correct positions. The construction method of this replica permits realistic-looking front and rear lights – in particular the front headlamp / indicator assembly whose headlamp is transparent and indicator is translucent.

The brand new ukbus 3028 Plymouth Citybus MPD bus models are limited to 1100 pieces produced. It will be distributed by John Ayrey Die-Casts Limited (UK), Porte Publishing Company (Japan), Transit Graphics (Australia), cnmycar.com (P. R. of China) and Concorde Hobby Shop (HK) respectively.

 Oxford Bus Company
ukbus 2015 Plaxton President-bodied Dennis Trident

It has been a bit silent about its Plaxton President-bodied Dennis Trident replicas in the past months, but now Creative Master Northcord Limited (CMNL) has proudly released its latest single door version of this casting. It is ukbus 2015, carrying Oxford Bus Company colours.

ukbus 2015 represents fleet number 904 (R4 OXF) which is one of eight Dennis Tridents with Plaxton President bodies in the Oxford Bus Company fleet, acquired in 2006 from its sister company Go-North East. This batch of buses is used on City35 (Oxford to Abingdon via Kennington) and is unusual in a fleet composed mainly of single deck buses.

The replica features excellent detailing, inside and out, including an opening engine door and engine detail. This is a one-piece casting whose clean lines accentuate the gasket windows and livery application on which all logos and lettering are clearly legible.

Additionally, ukbus 2015 brings some features which represent the special requirements of the Go-Ahead Group e.g. the full-width destination blind at the rear, etc.

The brand new single door Plaxton President-bodied Dennis Trident  double-deck bus models will be distributed by John Ayrey Die-Casts Limited (UK), Porte Publishing Company (Japan), Transit Graphics (Australia), cnmycar.com (P. R. China) and Concorde Hobby Shop (HK) respectively. The ukbus 2015 model is limited to 1300 pieces worldwide.

 Brighton & Hove
ukbus 1032 Alexander ALX400-bodied Dennis Trident

CMNL is proud to release the latest livery on its well-known casting – the Alexander ALX400-bodied Dennis Trident. This is ukbus 1032 carrying Brighton & Hove colours.

This model represents Brighton & Hove 881 (T669 KPU).

When Stagecoach sold its Lewes area operations to Brighton & Hove in September 2005 seven Tridents with Alexander ALX400 bodywork were among the fleet taken over and repainted into Brighton & Hove livery.

These Tridents had originally been in the Stagecoach London fleet but were transferred to Stagecoach South who converted them to single door. Brighton & Hove 881 (T669 KPU) was numerically the first of the acquired Tridents. The model replicates this conversion accurately by showing the painted window pillars either side of where the London-specification centre door had been replaced by a single window.

Now repainted in the generic BH3 livery, 881 carries Brighton & Hove’s innovative and eye-catching advertising, aimed at encouraging car drivers to take the bus, that is applied to non route-branded buses. On its offside 881 carries John Lees’ “I’m on the bus” statement, and it carries the “Annual Bus Travel” rear advert showing comparative costs of annual car travel compared with annual bus travel on Brighton & Hove’s bus services.

For details of all current “I’m on the bus” adverts, recently featuring members of B & H staff as well as passengers, please refer to Brighton & Hove’s own website : http://www.buses.co.uk/

The replica features excellent detailing, inside and out, including an opening engine door and engine detail. This is a one-piece casting whose clean lines accentuate the windows and livery application on which all logos and lettering are clearly legible. The model also has no unnecessary metal poles to hold it together.

The brand new Brighton & Hove model is based on a Limited Edition of 1300 pieces produced. They will be distributed by John Ayrey Die-Casts Limited (UK), Transit Graphic (Australia), cnmycar.com (P.R. of China), Porte Publishing Company (Japan) and Concorde Hobby Shop (HK) respectively.

 NEWLY RE-TOOLED CASTING
ukbus 6005 Alexander Dennis Enviro400
Stagecoach in Manchester

Creative Master Northcord Limited is pleased to announce the release of Alexander Dennis Enviro400 ukbus 6005, the long awaited newly re-tooled casting of a distinctive modern double-decker in the United Kingdom.

The first livery to be carried on the brand new re-tooled casting is standard Stagecoach corporate livery for Stagecoach in Manchester.

Having received one example of the new Alexander Dennis Enviro400 double-deck body as a direct replacement for the ALX400-bodied bus lost in service during the 7/7 terror attacks in London, Stagecoach began to accept deliveries of its major order of 130 for provincial companies in September 2006.

Of the 130 buses ordered, the majority were destined for Stagecoach in Manchester and 19063 (MX56 FSP) entered service there in October 2006. 19063 was allocated to Stockport depot and it carries route branding for route 192.

The Enviro400 body as delivered to Stagecoach ‘Provincial’ fleets differs from those delivered elsewhere because the staircase is not straight, but angled. This compact design maximizes the number of seats for passengers, but the key signature of the straight staircase version, the single seat behind the driver’s cab, is lost. The re-tooled ukbus 6005 model replicates the angled staircase correctly.

The Alexander Dennis Enviro400 ukbus 6005 is a one-piece casting whose clean lines accentuate the square-mounted, gasket windows and the livery application on which all logos and lettering are clearly legible. Another main feature on the ukbus 6005 model is its dual individual tree protectors at the front. The front dome on the model is significant, with its curved windscreen.

Creative Master Northcord is creating new design standards in the layout of the interior of both saloons. The features inside the compartments represent the really outstanding layout of the bus, including the extensive portrayal of handrails on both upper and lower decks. The headlights at the front are made of individual components to look more realistic.

CMNL’s re-tooled Enviro400 model ukbus 6005 has additional features to Stagecoach ‘Provincial’ specification, including newly designed windows at the driving cab, an additional rear-facing seat at the rear of the upper-deck and newly designed rear dome incorporating a representation of the opening emergency window but lacking the indent for additional upper-saloon ventilation equipment found on other Enviro400s.

The brand new Enviro400 bus models will be distributed by John Ayrey Die-Casts Limited (UK), Transit Graphics (Australia), cnmycar.com (P. R. China), Porte Publishing Company (Japan) and Concorde Hobby Shop (HK) respectively. The ukbus 6005 model is limited to 1800 pieces worldwide.

 ukbus 7007 Scania OmniCity
Nottingham City Transport

Creative Master Northcord Limited is releasing the seventh replica on its popular Scania OmniCity model tooling. It is ukbus 7007 with Nottingham City Transport route branded livery.

ukbus 7007 features a model of Nottingham City Transport’s 529 (YS03 ZLN), running on service 35 bound for Bulwell. The service is packaged as the “Orange Line” which includes services 35, 35B and 38, linking Nottingham city centre and Bulwell bus Station.

529 is numerically the first of 9 Scania OmniCity buses to be delivered in May 2003 for Orange Line services.

The Scania OmniCity ukbus 7007 is a one-piece casting whose clean lines accentuate the square-mounted, double-glazed windows and the livery application on which all logos and lettering are clearly legible.

Key features of the ukbus 7000 series, exemplified on ukbus 7007, include an extensive portrayal of handrails, the headlight / indicator units at the front made of individual, translucent components to look more realistic and the red lights at the rear made similarly, with the indicator and reversing light colours tampo-printed on top.

The brand new Scania OmniCity bus models will be distributed by John Ayrey Die-Casts Limited (UK), Transit Graphics (Australia), Porte Publishing Company (Japan), cnmycar.com (P. R. of China) and Concorde Hobby Shop (HK) respectively. The ukbus 7007 model is limited to 1400 pieces worldwide.

Creative Master Northcord Limited (CMNL) is releasing ukbus 0015 in the most attractive, special livery of East Yorkshire Motor Services. It will soon be the focus of attention from bus model collectors as well as from bus enthusiasts. The model represents East Yorkshire Motor Services 670 (80 EYC).

This bus replica is based on the CMNL Dennis Trident casting with Plaxton President bodywork, but features some important modification to the tooling to resemble the Volvo-chassied version more closely.

Based on a Volvo B7TL chassis with Plaxton ‘President’ bodwork, fleet number 670 was new in 2002 and is one of thirty similar buses in the Hull-based East Yorkshire Motor Services fleet. To mark the Company’s 80th Anniversary in 2006 it was repainted in the unique indigo and primrose colour scheme which was well-known as the livery carried by EYMS buses from the formation of the company in 1926 until NBC’s poppy red became the norm after nationalisation in 1969.

Carrying the special 80-year logo and lettering accurately depicted on the model, the bus also appropriately gained the registration 80 EYC which was already owned by EYMS.

The replica features excellent detailing, inside and out, including an opening engine door and engine detail. This is a one-piece casting whose clean lines accentuate the gasket windows and livery application on which all logos and lettering are clearly legible.

The brand new single door EYMS Plaxton President double-deck bus models will be distributed by John Ayrey Die-Casts Limited (UK), Transit Graphic (Australia), Porte Publishing Company (Japan), cnmycar.com (P. R. China)  and Concorde Hobby Shop (HK) respectively. The ukbus 0015 model is limited to 1400 pieces worldwide.

This model represents Stagecoach in Swindon 18450 (VU06 KFO).

Stagecoach in Swindon service 55 was launched in August 2006 as part of a “Kick Start” bid made by Stagecoach West and Wiltshire County Council, to improve the quality of the Swindon - Chippenham route. This is a one-piece casting whose clean lines accentuate the windows and livery application on which all logos and lettering are clearly legible.  TransBus Pointer-bodied Dart SLF
 - ukbus 0016 Stagecoach in Merseyside

CMNL is releasing a special commissioned model project for Stagecoach in Merseyside. This is ukbus 0016 carrying eye-catching 197 / 198 route branding colours.

The ukbus 0016 Stagecoach in Merseyside replica carries the fleet number 34215 and registration number W215 DNO.

Since the Stagecoach takeover of Glenvale Transport’s operations in July 2005, the key Kirkby area network of routes has been simplified and improved for the majority of customers by the introduction of frequent, simple services, with new easy access vehicles.

As part of this process, it became clear that aside from the mainline services to Liverpool, some key local links needed to be improved, including the vital connection to the large Kirkby Industrial area “The Admin” and some of the communities off the beaten track. In partnership with Merseytravel, Stagecoach decided to invest in the two low floor short Dennis Dart buses which would be dedicated to providing local links and improving upon the existing 197 service. Branded ‘Kirkby Connect’ service 197 and 198 started on Monday 8th May 2006 and thanks to the friendly, familiar team of drivers, these vital local buses continue to grow in popularity.

The brand new ukbus 0016 Stagecoach in Merseyside bus models are limited to 1100 pieces produced. It will be distributed by John Ayrey Die-Casts Limited (UK), Porte Publishing Company (Japan), Transit Graphics (Australia), cnmycar.com (P. R. of China) and Concorde Hobby Shop (HK) respectively.

 ukbus 4011 Alexander Royale-bodied
 Volvo Olympian - Lothian Buses

Following the significant success in launching the new casting of the Alexander Royale-bodied Volvo Olympian model in the madder and white livery of Lothian Buses in 2005, Creative Master Northcord Limited is releasing the third livery on this casting relating to Lothian Buses – ukbus 4011 in Lothian Buses’ red colour for its 15/15A Service.

ukbus 4011 represents Lothian Buses fleet number 431 (P431 KSX).

Lothian Buses received 3 single-door Alexander Royale-bodied Volvo Olympians in November 1996 that were painted in the black and white private hire/airport livery. After a short time in the blue and grey Airlink livery, 431 (P431 KSX) received Lothian Buses’ standard madder and white colours and, in 2005, the light red and white scheme that is regarded as an identifier for route 15/
15A, allowing 431 to join the 6 single-door Leyland Olympians with Alexander R-type bodywork (366-371) that also wear these distinctive colours.

Route 15/
15A runs from Tranent, in East Lothian, near the southern banks of the Firth of Forth, through Edinburgh City centre into Midlothian and the town of Penicuik in the Pentland Hills.

Route 15 passes in close proximity to the 15th Century Rosslyn Chapel, located 7 miles out of Edinburgh, and one of the locations in Dan Brown’s best selling novel “The Da Vinci Code” that became a blockbuster Hollywood movie starring Tom Hanks. The “Da Vinci Code” link has featured prominently in Lothian Buses’ publicity for the service.

Just as ukbus 4007, ukbus 4011 has the special combination for the ukbus 4000 series casting, with a single door, middle staircase and square-cornered, gasket windows, as well as a new seating layout in the lower deck to the Lothian Buses style. The front dash panel of ukbus 4011 has been modified where parts of the “nostrils” above the main radiator grille intake have been filled in to create the unique Lothian Buses tramboard that is often used to enhance the, already significant, route information further for the public.

The model features the latest Day Ticket and Direct Debit banners that applied from
1st April 2007. Lothian 431 had previously carried the rear Direct Debit banner in a unique location among all Olympians in the fleet.

ukbus 4011 is a one-piece casting whose clean lines accentuate the gasket windows and livery application on which all logos and lettering are clearly legible. Another main feature on the ukbus 4011 model is its extensive handrails on both upper deck and lower deck.  It is one of the significant achievements on this new casting. The rectangular headlight and indicator units at the front are made of individual components to look more realistic.

ukbus 4011 is the latest model in the CMNL Lothian Buses collection.

Mercedes-Benz Citaro G - ukbus 5109 Eden Project

Creative Master Northcord Limited has proudly released the first livery on its popular Mercedes-Benz Citaro G model to have received significant modification to the tooling in order to represent, as close to 100% accuracy as possible, the real buses on the roads.

ukbus 5109 carries the Eden Project orange-based livery. The bus itself is owned by Truronian Limited. It represents registration number CN02 EDN.

Since the Eden Project opened in 2001 it has welcomed over 8 million people and they all have to be driven around the huge site quickly, comfortably and in an environmentally friendly manner by Mercedes-Benz Citaro G buses.

The Eden Project is owned by the Eden Trust. It is more than just a green theme park. Eden is about connecting plants, people and places. It is a living demonstration of regeneration and aims to reconnect people with their environments locally and globally.

TransBus Mini Pointer-bodied Dart - ukbus 3027 Solent Blue Line 'red rocket'

Further to the great success of the previous launch of Solent Blue Line Mercedes-Benz Citaro blue star bus models, CMNL is releasing another Solent Blue Line bus model with eye-catching route-branding decoration on the popular MPD casting. This is ukbus 3027 carrying red rocket colours.

The ukbus 3027 Solent Blue Line MPD replica carries the fleet number 577 and registration number SN03 ECC.

Hampshire bus operator Solent Blue Line brought a splash of colour to the local transport scene when they reinvented their local network around Eastleigh as ‘Red Rockets’ in autumn 2006. Wanting to bring an element of fun and excitement to local bus travel, Solent Blue Line commissioned well known agency Best Impressions to design this striking red colour scheme.

The new livery was applied to ten ‘Mini Pointer Dart’ single deckers, but the rebranding did not stop there! Each bus was decorated internally with vinyls promoting travel by Red Rocket and also recalling famous rockets in history. As a finishing touch, humorous slogans on a space theme were applied to both sides of each bus – all of them different – provoking a positive reaction both from passengers and passers by.

This is a one-piece casting whose clean lines accentuate the gasket windows and livery application on which all logos and lettering are clearly legible.

The brand new ukbus 3027 Solent Blue Line MPD bus models are limited to 1400 pieces produced. It will be distributed by John Ayrey Die-Casts Limited (UK), Porte Publishing Company (Japan), Transit Graphics (Australia), cnmycar.com (P. R. of China) and Concorde Hobby Shop (HK) respectively.

ukbus 4009 Alexander Royale-bodied Volvo Olympian - First Pennine

Following the significant success in launching the new casting of the Alexander Royale-bodied Volvo Olympian model to the former Singapore Bus Services Ltd (SBS) specification in the livery of Metroline, Creative Master Northcord Limited is releasing a second livery – ukbus 4009 in First Pennine yellow and red colours.

ukbus 4009 has a brand new combination for the ukbus 4000 series casting, with single entrance doors, front staircase and rounded gasket windows, as well as the headlights and indicators to the Singapore Bus Services style. What makes this single-door body significant is the method of the conversion that leaves large window pillars either side of the new window where the exit doors were fitted originally.

First Pennine was the initial UK operator of Volvo Olympian registered K174 EUX following its importation from Singapore in 1999.

K174 EUX, nowadays carrying First’s national fleetnumber 30107, originated in the Singapore Bus Services fleet as SBS 7204J where it had entered service in 1994.

ukbus 4009 is a one-piece casting whose clean lines accentuate the gasket windows and livery application on which all logos and lettering are clearly legible. Another main feature on the ukbus 4009 model is its new window and interior modification (with the fitted luggage pen) at the position of the original rear door. This model represents Stagecoach in Cambridge 17007 (S807 BWC).

In a campaign to fight Breast Cancer in Cambridgeshire, supported jointly by Cambridgeshire County Council, Cancer Research UK and Stagecoach, Cancer Research UK has benefited from funds raised on the Park & Ride buses operated by Stagecoach in Cambridge during October 2006.

On each Tuesday that month Stagecoach donated 50% of the Park & Ride return bus fares, of £2 or £1.50, to the campaign fund and, to highlight the campaign even further, the company repainted one of its fleet of Park & Ride buses into a pink version of the Park & Ride livery.

CMNL ukvan range

Creative Master Northcord Limited is proud to release initial information to the collector media for its second new casting for 2007.

The new casting is based on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter NCV3 Panel Van and Traveliner minibus and will be designed to satisfy the requirements of the United Kingdom / Ireland market.

Therefore, the items under the Creative Master Northcord Limited ukvan range will be released in right-hand drive configuration and to a scale of 1 : 76 that will fit in with the most commonly collected items in 00 scale.

The version of the new Sprinter that CMNL has chosen to replicate is the long wheelbase version (4325mm) with high roof.

CMNL is taking this bold step to introduce the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter NCV3 onto the UK market as it recognises collectors’ needs to have such a vehicle available a) as a standalone vehicle for model collections, b) to enhance bus depot dioramas by providing the basis for operators’ ancillary & support vehicles, c) as detail to enhance the modern street scene unconnected with the bus operators’ vehicles featured on a diorama and d) to enhance model railway enthusiasts’ layouts.

As the tooling is developed, further announcements will follow enclosing additional detail.

News Release - 13th February 2007

ukbus 1029 Alexander ALX400-bodied Dennis Trident - Stagecoach Manchester

CMNL is proud to release the most important livery on its well-known casting – the Alexander ALX 400-bodied Dennis Trident. This is ukbus 1029 carrying the original Stagecoach Provincial livery.

This model represents Stagecoach Manchester 612 (T612 MNF).

Stagecoach placed an initial order for 100 Alexander ALX400-bodied Dennis Tridents for 1999 delivery. The first 98 of these (order number 9822) were delivered to London and were dual-door. Notably, the first ALX400 Trident for London was painted into chevrons livery and delivered to Manchester. The other two were single-door (order number 9744) and were delivered to Stagecoach Manchester in May 1999. These entered service on route 192 between Stockport Hazel Grove and Manchester Piccadilly.

It will be no doubt to say that ukbus 1029 models will have extra value to collectors.  Collectors will soon be able to add a further Stagecoach Manchester model replica of a significant bus also on route 192 : this will be ukbus 6004, replicating one of the buses from the largest single order for the Alexander Dennis Enviro 400, successor to the ALX400.

The replica features excellent detailing, inside and out, including an opening engine door and engine detail. This is a one-piece casting whose clean lines accentuate the windows and livery application on which all logos and lettering are clearly legible. To replicate the original style of nearside driver’s mirror, the tooling was revised to the original specification as found on many of the earliest ukbus 1000 range models to accommodate this significant feature. The model also has no unnecessary metal poles to hold it together.

The brand new model of Stagecoach Manchester 612 is based on a Limited Edition of 2000 pieces produced. They will be distributed by John Ayrey Die-Casts Limited (UK), Transit Graphic (Australia), cnmycar.com (P.R. of China), Porte Publishing Company (Japan) and Concorde Hobby Shop (HK) respectively.

ukbus 7004 represents fleet number 65023 (YN54 NZX).

The ZIP Bus Priority corridor is part of Hampshire County Council’s Local Transport Plan 2001-2006. Bus route 41 has been branded ‘ZIP’ with the logo used on bus stops and shelters on the route between Portsdown Hill, on the northern outskirts of Portsmouth and the village of Clanfield. The improvements to public transport along the A3 trunk road are intended to make an attractive alternative to the car. As part of the improvement, the bus operator First Hampshire & Dorset Ltd purchased a new fleet of buses complete with white, purple and lime green ZIP livery. Since February 2005, the branded Scania OmniCity buses have been operating a frequent daytime service between Gunwharf Quay and Clanfield.

65023 (YN54 NZX) is one of a batch of twenty with ZIP-branding. Each ZIP branded bus has been named after a wild flower which grows in the local chalk soil of Portsmouth Hill – 65023 bears the name ‘Eyebright’ on a nearside window.

The Scania OmniCity ukbus 7004 is a one-piece casting whose clean lines accentuate the square-mounted, double-glazed windows and the livery application on which all logos and lettering are clearly legible. News Release - 20th January 2007

ukbus 6003 Alexander Dennis Enviro400 - London General

Following the great success of the launch models of the Alexander Dennis Enviro400 in two different overall lengths, ukbus 6001, with “Spirit of London” decoration, and ukbus 6002, Metroline, Creative Master Northcord Limited is pleased to announce the release of ukbus 6003, the second dual-door, short-wheelbase Alexander Dennis Enviro400 model, on this occasion in London General standard livery.

ukbus 6003 represents fleet number E4 (SN06 BNE) that was new to Go-Ahead London General in early 2006.

The bus is running on service 196 bound for Tooting Broadway in Central London onto which route London General introduced its batch of 15 Enviro400s early in 2006.

During the preparation process for ukbus 6003, a bus was made available for photography and this carried Tooting Broadway in its destination display. During the checking process of the pre-production model, none of the staff involved noted that Tooting Broadway is not part of route 196, so the model has been released with this destination in error. CMNL apologises unreservedly for this unfortunate oversight.

The Alexander Dennis Enviro400 ukbus 6003 is a one-piece casting whose clean lines accentuate the square-mounted, gasket windows and the livery application on which all logos and lettering are clearly legible. Another main feature on the ukbus 6003 model is its dual individual tree protectors at the front.

The brand new Enviro400 bus models will be distributed by John Ayrey Die-Casts Limited (UK), Transit Graphics (Australia), Porte Publishing Company (Japan), cnmycar.com (P. R. China) and Concorde Hobby Shop (HK) respectively. The ukbus 6003 model is limited to 1800 pieces worldwide.

ukbus 7005 Scania OmniCity - Metrobus - Route X26

Creative Master Northcord Limited is proud to release the first London Red bus replica on its popular Scania OmniCity model tooling. It is ukbus 7005 with Metrobus’ Transport for London operation livery.

ukbus 7005 represents fleet number 543 (YN05 HFG).

In October 2004, London Buses awarded Metrobus the contract to operate route X26, with effect from the following April. A limited stopping service between Croydon and Heathrow Airport, this replaced most of route 726, one of the last former Green Line services to operate across South London, which had most recently been operated by Tellings Golden Miller.

With 28 Scania OmniCities already in the Metrobus fleet for Fastway services in Crawley and also for Orpington route 358, this type of vehicle was an obvious choice. Fleet number 543 represents the batch of five purchased, which differ from the other batches in being single door and have additional luggage racks to cater for the high number of tourists / air passengers using the route.

This batch of vehicles was the first to be delivered new in allover red and with the now familiar silver logos, as had already been seen on the latest repaints for TfL contracts. The batch moved from the former East Surrey depot at South Godstone, to the new depot in Croydon, in February 2006.
