Oxford 76DRxxx Series Duple Roadmaster Coach |
The Duple Roadmaster coach was produced from the early 1950's, and was one of the first bodies designed by the bodybuilder for use on the growing range of under floor engine chassis. The coach was a major departure from previous Duple designs incorporating a high waistband & small passenger windows. The design wasn't produced in particularly large numbers and only a small number of larger operators brought new vehicles, these included Red & White & Standerwick, however many of the vehicles were subsequently sold on to well known smaller independents such as South Notts, Samuel Ledgards & Bamber Bridge Motor Services. The Oxford model was announced in May 2015 and the first release followed in March 2016. |
