This model was first produced as part of Hornby's London 2012 Olympic's range and was the first model released in the range.
The model is based on the special vehicle built for the hand over ceremony at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, the real vehicle had a top deck that opened up to reveal a stage, the bus was used again a few weeks later at the closing ceremony of the paraplegic games and carried a revised livery.

The Olympic vehicle differs from the standard Enviro400 buses and its not yet known if the model will be issued in the livery of other operators.
