EFE news update

The latest posting from EFE arrived this morning and gives another hint towards the identity of the forthcoming modern bus by revealing that it will include both double & single deck versions.

Frank Joyce has also explained the recent increase in the price of the EFE models ....
Most of you will be aware that we have unfortunately been forced to increase the prices of our models. This is the first actual price increase for over 3 years and although the cost of making our models has slowly been rising we have been absorbing these higher prices until now. Even with this price rise the cost of our models are still lower than all of our competitors. There are many factors that have contributed to this, the cost of raw materials has risen sharply (Zinc has risen by 130%) and the increased decoration combined and consequent tooling costs amortised over small production quantities has pushed the unit price up considerably. As a principle we are dedicated to keeping our prices down and respecting the trust our collectors place in our range of models.

The Australian TD1 being produced for Trux is expected to be dispatched to EFE subscribers in the week commencing 20th November. Like previous years a special Subscribers Christmas model is also being prepared, further details will be sent with the next mailing of the subscribers newsletter.

Just one new model has been announced.
20009DL Leyland PD2/12 Orion Manchester City (Deluxe Series)

The first of the new Routemaster castings the RMA is due to be released later this month followed by the RMC and RMF models in December.

The latest LOTS newsletter confirms that the entire stock of their limited edition Routemaster 15635F was sold at their Autumn Transport Spectacular event on the 4th November.

Site Email Problems

The site now has a new email address which will hopefully cure the problems I've had with the efezone ones, the old addresses are still active but some incoming mail is still being delayed by up to 7 days. The problems with my outgoing Orange mail being identified as spam still remains (this problem appears to affect many Orange users!) so an alternative ISP account has been set up to get around this.

Site Email Problems

I'm currently experiencing some major problem in both receiving and sending emails, some emails posted to the efezone. co. uk address have taken up to 7 days to be delivered to me, it's possible that some may never have reached me. This problem appears to be connected to a massive increase in spam being sent to my efezone mailbox. It would appear spammers have scanned my site and lifted the email address from the text or links. Measures have now been taken to prevent this from happening again and as a result the clickable email links have been amended or removed.

A separate issue is also affecting my out going mail, the problem is related to my ISP Orange and means that mail from their customers is being incorrectly marked as spam or blocked by some ISP's. I've become aware in recent days that several emails I've sent (to mainly aol & hotmail) have never been delivered.

If you've sent an enquiry to the EFE or OOC Zones since the beginning of September and not received a reply then it's likely that I've either not received it or my reply has gone astray. All emails received have been sent replies if you believe you've been affected by these problems then please contact me again using the site contact page available by clicking Email button on the left.

London Bus Repaints & Transfers website problems

I've had several enquires concerning the L.B.R.T. website which has been unavailable in recent days. I've contacted the proprietor of the site Nigel Mitchell and he tells me that the problems with the site have now been rectified and that details of his full range of code 3 London bus models & waterslide transfers are now back online.
