Several New EFE Models Exhibited at Cobham |
Frank & Brenda Joyce had a stand at the Cobham Bus Museum's Annual Spring Open Day & Bus Gathering today. Among the display of recently released and forthcoming EFE models were seven previously unannounced pre-production models, pictures can be found below of these but please bear in mind that these are all very early pre-production models and EFE are aware of a number of issues that need to be adjusted, such as colour shades used on the RMA & trailer, before the final production versions are produced. 22718 Starks (Scottish Bus Group) - Alexander Y Type Coach 26623 Exclesior Holidays, Bournemouth - Plaxton Paramount 3500 Coach 29306 Liverpool Motor Services (LMS) - Leyland Olympian 32207 United Counties - Bristol RELH Coach 35004 Pollock, London - AEC Mark V Articulated Flatbed Lorry 35203 Northern General - Long BET Single Deck Bus 36202 BEA (Orange bus & blue trailer) - AEC RMA Routemaster & Luggage Trailer apologises for the rather grainy pictures this is due mainly to the poor light conditions in the museum. Confirmed Model Release 36002A London Transport (route 718) - Leyland RTL Double Deck Bus (Cobham Commission) When I enquired about this model in the Museum tent at Wisley I was informed that the model had completely sold out by mid-day and there will be no stock available for mail order customers as previously mentioned in the press release issued by the Museum in March. |

New Tooling Update |
The latest EFE subscriber's newsletter arrived today and on the reverse of the enclosed release sheet is an update on some of the new model tooling, the Bristol VR series I announced at last September's Showbus is now underway, a flat fronted VR II is also being produced. Further new tooling has also been announced to enable the production of a bus seated version of the existing Alexander Y type and both bus and coach versions of the same body with an alternative Bristol style front. Bristol VR Series I Flat Front Bus Seated Alexander Y Type Alexander Y Type Bristol Style front In addition to the Stevenson's Guy GS Bus that was announced at last month's Hobby & Collectors trade fair, one further previously unannounced model is listed among the future releases in the newsletter. 29306 Optare Olympian - Liverpool Motor Services Just a reminder that a special commissioned London Transport RTL model will be available at the annual Cobham Bus Museum Open Day and Gathering on Sunday (11 April). EFE will be attending the event again this year which is expected to attract in excess of 300 vehicle entries. This year the special theme will be 80 years of Green Line and a special display of related vehicles is planned. Further event details can be found on the Museum's website www.lbpt.org. |
