Metroline Olympian Details Published
Details have now been issued regarding the Metroline Olympian R504 announced last month, this is now confirmed as a Volvo rather than Leyland example and will feature AV9 on route 4 to Waterloo. It's worth pointing out that the registration shown on the sample model in the photograph released is incorrect and it should be P489MBY rather than NBY! Two further future Britbus models have also been spotted, the first LLB-08 is an East Midland Alexander bodied Leyland Lowlander which is featured in a John Ayrey advertisement placed in the October edition of Model Collector. Melvyn from Mel's Collectables in Leeds reports that he saw a pre-production sample of a Walter Alexander Guy Arab in the operator's traditional blue livery with white bands when he visited wholesaler John Ayrey Die-casts recently.

Model Alterations & Email Problems
David Rowe has emailed me to tell me of two modifications that will be made to two of the recently announced Britbus models.
The London Country Atlantean AN-28 will have grey wheel hubs rather than silver as shown in the pre-production picture. Secondly the Metroline Alexander bus R504 should in fact be a Volvo rather than Leyland Olympian. David has informed Britbus of these points and has been told these points will be changed on the final production models. Apologies to David for not responding to his email and others sent from the Britbus Zone Contact page since the start of August. To be honest I made a bit of a mess of setting up the mail sorting rule in Outlook Express and the mail ended up in the wrong folder, everything is now working as originally intended and I hope to have cleared all the outstanding replies by this evening. Please note when using the contact page form, if no email address is entered in the box provided I will not be able to send a reply.

More Britbus Models Being Worked On
I'm sure many collectors have been worried recently that Britbus appear to have been winding down it's bus related releases, with nothing new announced since early March and currently no outstanding models things haven't been looking that promising. The good news I've received is that Britbus are still working on further new bus releases, two new liveries are currently being worked on and these will be publicly announced once everything has been finalised. Sadly as yet no release dates or clues as to what the models will be. for passing on this news which came from Britbus' UK importer John Ayrey Die-casts.

More Model Releases | ||
Following on from Thursday's report I can now confirm that the Brighton & Hove Scania Omnidekka has also been released along with three Base Toys models. There have been no further announcements regarding any future Britbus model releases and I don't know whether this marks the end of the range or is just a planned pause in production. Two Confirmed Britbus Releases
The two outstanding Leyland Atlantean models announced back in early March have finally been released. The general release of the only other currently outstanding Britbus model, the Brighton & Hove Scania Omnidekka (ES-11), is still awaited although reports suggest a limited quantity of the model were available from the Brighton & Hove Bus Company at the operator's 75th Anniversary Rally held last month. Another New Base Toys Model Picture
Another new model photograph has been published by John Ayrey. The latest newsletter from The Model Store advises that the release of the following Base Toys model has now been cancelled, I understand this may be because of licensing issues involving the use of the oil company's logos.
