| Two New Britbus Models Announced & A Reported Release | ||
John Ayrey has listed the following two new Britbus models on their website, both models are listed as due for release in April 2011. GL09A W Alexander Fife (Fleet No. FRO586, registration AWG372, Route 302 Rosyth Dockyard) - Guy Arab III  GL09B W Alexander Fife (Fleet No. FRO586, registration AWG372, Route 305 Rumblingwell) - Guy Arab III  The John Ayrey site also indicates that LLB10, the latest East Midland Leyland Lowlander, has now been released and that the Dublin Bus Alexander Olympian R707 is also due out this month. Some more pre-production model photographs have been published showing forthcoming Base Toys products. I can now confirm that two of the Base Toys lorries announced last week have indeed been released and are now with retailers. DA05 AEC Mammoth Major Tanker - Fletcher Miller Oils  DA07 Leyland Beaver Articulated Low Loader with 3 Large Crates Load - A & E Morris Photographs of two more of the lorries announced last week along with six more showing the new lorry pay loads have also been released today by John Ayrey Die-casts. | R707 Pre-production Model Photographs | ||
| David Rowe has kindly supplied a set of photographs showing the pre-production version of the recently announced R707 Volvo Olympian in Dublin Bus livery. David advises that the model shown sits too high at the rear and that the wrong coloured seat units have been fitted. Both of these issues should be addressed on the production models. The model depicts Dublin Bus' highest numbered example of the RV class, RV640 and wears the latest style of livery with the revised version of the fleet name. The model has destinations blinds set for route 120 which was the normal haunt of the real bus. | A new batch of ten Base Toys lorries including a new Leyland Mastiff tooling have been announced along with a range of eight lorry pay loads which have RRP of £2.99. Two of the lorries have already been released according to the John Ayrey Wholesalers site although no retailers seem to have stock as yet.
